Child Angel

Alonso de Berruguete (?)
Madera tallada y policromada

This sculpture is similar to others from the altarpiece of the Irish of Salamanca, from which it probably comes. It represents a standing child, half naked and with his head turned to the opposite side of the rod he holds. The polychrome it shows is the original one, and golden remains can be seen in the vestments. / Extracted from: A.A.V.V.: Gómez-Moreno Institute (catalog). Granada, 1992, p. 178.

Chronology: Surroundings of Alonso de Beruguete (1488-1561)
